Icon leases 23,000 SF to Crunch Fitness
DeWitt, N.Y. — Gym chain Crunch Fitness is set to open its first Syracuse-area location in December. Icon’s Grazi Zazzara represented the landlord in this 10 year lease transaction.
The chain will open its gym at DeWitt Town Center on Erie Boulevard sometime in December. The 23,000-square-foot gym will be in space at the plaza previously occupied by Herb Philipson's. "It's going to be a brand new, state-of-the-art gym staffed by incredible people who care," said Tommy Yan, owner of the DeWitt location. "We want it to be welcoming for everyone."
Yan said Crunch’s 1,000-square-foot HIIT Zone will help set it apart from other fitness facilities. The zone focuses fast-paced bursts of high-intensity exercises involving various body movements, weights and equipment, including ropes, sleds, tires, monkey bars and more.
Crunch got its start in New York City in 1989 and now has over 300 locations nationwide. In New York, the chain has locations in the Buffalo area, Schenectady and the Hudson Valley, in addition to New York City.
Crunch wants to open three or four total locations in the Syracuse area in the coming years, Yan said.
